Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and the connector plugging into the solenoid for External Hydraulic Valve 5 for chafed wires, corrosion, or loose pins.
Verify on the Datatronic display that the flow rate and time delay settings for the auxiliary spool valves are correctly configured and not causing a software lockout.
Inspect the auxiliary spool valve block at the rear of the tractor for any visible hydraulic fluid leaks that might indicate a blown seal or mechanical failure of the valve slice.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Ensure the tractor is turned off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing the valve block.
Locate the Valve Block
Locate the auxiliary spool valve assembly (typically mounted at the rear). Identify the slice corresponding to Valve 5.
Disconnect Electronics
Unplug the electrical connector from the ON/OFF solenoid valve and the pressure relief valve located on the end plate of the distribution block for Valve 5.
Remove the Valve/Solenoid
Unbolt the faulty electro-hydraulic solenoid or the entire spool valve slice from the manifold.
Install New Component
Fit the replacement valve or solenoid, ensuring all O-rings are seated correctly.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the wiring harness. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.51.22 code and test the remote for proper operation.
Parts you might need
(1)Electro-hydraulic Auxiliary Spool Valve (Valve 5) / Spool Valve Solenoid
The exact part number depends heavily on the specific tractor model and whether the tractor is equipped with Bosch SB23LS EHS closed-center valves or a different block configuration.
