Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to the #5 rear remote valve for corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires (electrical fault cause).

  2. If the tractor utilizes mechanical spool valve cables, check the cable connecting the control lever to the spool valve assembly for sticking, stretching, binding, or breakage (mechanical fault cause).

  3. If equipped with electronic remotes, test the electric spool valve control switch in the cab for proper operation.

  4. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and cycle the hydraulic valve to see if the code is an active fault or a stored historical code.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Access the Valve

Locate External Hydraulic Valve 5 at the rear remote stack.

  3. Wiring Repair

If the diagnostic check revealed a wiring issue, clean the connector contacts with electrical contact cleaner. Replace the pigtail connector if the housing is cracked or pins are heavily corroded.

  4. Cable Replacement (If Applicable)

Take a photo of the old cable routing before removal to ensure the new cable is routed correctly. Disconnect the cable from the cab control lever and the rear spool valve. Route the new cable exactly as the old one was routed to prevent kinking.

  5. Switch Replacement (If Applicable)

If the electric control switch is faulty, pop the switch out of the side console, disconnect the harness, and plug in the replacement switch.

  6. Reassembly and Testing

Reconnect the battery. Use a diagnostic tool to clear code 0A.52.1E. Actuate the #5 remote to ensure smooth operation without sticking or binding.
