   Inspect the wiring harness and connector leading to External Hydraulic Valve 5 for loose connections, damaged wires, or corrosion

   Verify the signal and ground to the ON/OFF solenoid valve using a multimeter to ensure it is receiving the correct voltage (typically 12V when active)

   Check the transmission/hydraulic fluid level and ensure the hydraulic filters are not clogged

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electrical system.

   Clean Contacts

   Disconnect the plug at External Hydraulic Valve 5. Use an electrical contact cleaner to remove any dirt, oil, or corrosion from the pins. Reconnect and test to see if the code clears.

   Repair Wiring

   If the wiring harness is frayed or pinched, splice and repair the damaged section or replace the harness segment.

   Replace the Valve/Solenoid

   If the electrical supply is verified but the valve remains unresponsive or throws the code, the solenoid or the spool valve itself has failed internally. Unbolt the faulty solenoid/valve assembly from the hydraulic block and install the replacement unit.

   Fluid Maintenance

   Top off the hydraulic fluid if any was lost during the valve replacement, and replace the hydraulic filter if it is due for service.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTC from the system.
