   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector leading to External Hydraulic Valve 5 for corrosion, damage, or loose pins

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to retrieve the code and monitor live data from the valve to see if it is receiving a signal

   Swap the electrical connection with a known good valve (e.g., Valve 4) to see if the fault code follows the valve or stays with the wiring harness

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the battery to ensure safety before working on the electrical system.

   Repair or replace wiring harness connector

   Repair or replace the wiring harness connector to Valve 5 if a connection issue is found.

   Remove faulty valve

   If the wiring is intact, remove the faulty electric spool slice/valve from the rear hydraulic valve block.

   Install replacement spool valve

   Install the replacement spool valve. Note: Some modern electric spool slices require programming/calibration to the tractor's ECU after installation.

   Clear DTCs and test

   Clear the DTCs using a compatible diagnostic tool and test the hydraulic remote for proper operation.
