Massey Ferguson 0A.5X.19 – Implement Control Module / Auxiliary Valve Controller: External Hydraulic Valve 5 Issue
Issue description
0A.5X designates the specific component (External Auxiliary Remote Spool Valve 5). 19 indicates the specific failure mode, which is typically related to an electrical connection problem, a sticking spool, or a failure in the valve's electronic control unit.

Check the cause
Check hydraulic/transmission fluid (UTTO) level and ensure it is not contaminated. A blocked hydraulic filter or suction strainer can starve the pump and cause erratic valve behavior.
Inspect quick-release couplers for damage, dirt, or mismatched fittings that could restrict oil flow and make the spool valve seem weak or unresponsive.
Check the valve body for external leaks, worn seals, damaged components, or loose connections.
Inspect the wiring harness and solenoid connections at Valve 5 for corrosion, breaks, or loose fittings (especially on Bosch Rexroth SB23 LS type valves).
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Ensure the tractor is off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before beginning work.
Disconnect Electronics
Unplug the electrical harness connected to the solenoid/electronic control head of External Valve 5.
Remove Hoses
Disconnect the hydraulic lines running to the valve ports, capping them to prevent contamination and fluid loss.
Unbolt the Valve
Remove the mounting bolts securing Valve 5 to the hydraulic valve stack/manifold.
Repair or Replace
If the issue is a minor leak, replace the O-rings and seals. If the electronic control unit on the valve has failed, the valve section must be replaced.
Reinstallation
Install the new valve section, torque the mounting bolts to factory specifications, and reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical harness.
Test
Top off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and test the remote valve for proper operation and leak-free performance.
