Massey Ferguson 0A.60.1B – EHR or Implement/Hydraulic ECU: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

Indicates a fault within the 6th external hydraulic spool valve circuit. The underlying condition is typically an electrical connection problem on the hydraulic valve (such as a damaged harness, loose connector, or failed solenoid) or an internal mechanical failure of the valve itself.

   Inspect the external hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor. Locate Valve 6 and check for any obvious physical damage or hydraulic fluid leaks.

   Disconnect the electrical connector at the Valve 6 solenoid. Check for dirt, moisture, corrosion, or bent pins. Clean the contacts and securely reconnect.

   Trace the wiring harness from Valve 6 back toward the cab/ECU to check for chafing, breaks, or rodent damage.

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTC. Operate the tractor's hydraulics to see if the code returns immediately (indicating a hard fault) or intermittently.

   Depressurize the System

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements to the ground, and turn off the engine. Move the hydraulic control levers/joysticks through all positions to relieve residual hydraulic pressure.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the external hydraulic valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Unplug the electrical connector from the Valve 6 solenoid.

   Remove Hydraulic Lines

   Place a catch pan beneath the valve block. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses/lines attached to Valve 6.

   Remove the Valve

   Unbolt Valve 6 from the hydraulic block/stack.

   Install Replacement

   Mount the new or rebuilt spool valve assembly. Torque the mounting bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and plug the electrical connector back into the solenoid.

   Bleed and Test

   Top off the hydraulic fluid reservoir if necessary. Start the tractor and cycle the hydraulic valve several times to bleed air from the system. Check for leaks around the new valve.

   Clear Codes

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.60.1B code and verify it does not return.
