Massey Ferguson 0A.60.1F – EHR: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

This fault code indicates a malfunction, communication failure, or connection problem with the 6th external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve slice) at the rear of the tractor. It is generated by the onboard diagnostic system responsible for the Electronic Hydraulic Control (EHR) or implement hydraulics.

   Inspect the wiring harness, plug, and pins connecting to the #6 electric spool slice at the rear valve block for corrosion, moisture, or breaks.

   Verify that the pilot pressure control system is functioning correctly and that there are no blockages.

   Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and operate the #6 remote to see if the code actively returns.

   Access the valve block

   Locate the external hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor and identify the 6th slice (Valve 6). Always relieve hydraulic pressure before servicing.

   Disconnect electronics

   Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the electric spool slice head unit.

   Remove the valve slice

   Unbolt the tie rods holding the hydraulic valve stack together. Carefully slide out the faulty #6 electric spool slice, ensuring you do not lose or damage the O-rings between the slices.

   Rebuild or replace valve slice

   If rebuilding, use an OEM spool valve repair kit to replace internal seals and components. If replacing, install the new electric spool slice into the stack.

   Reassemble valve stack

   Torque the valve stack tie rods to the manufacturer's specification and reconnect the electrical harness.

   Program the new valve

   A new electric spool slice must be programmed and calibrated to the tractor's ECU using a dealer diagnostic tool before it will function correctly.

   Test system

   Top off hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and test the #6 remote for proper operation and leakages.
