Issue description
Triggered when the tractor's onboard diagnostic system detects an electrical or connection problem with the 6th electro-hydraulic remote valve (spool valve slice). It typically indicates an open circuit, a short circuit, a faulty solenoid, or a communication failure at the 4-pin connector on the valve itself.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Locate External Hydraulic Valve 6 at the rear remote valve stack. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve for chafing, breaks, or rodent damage.
Connector Check: Disconnect the 4-pin electrical connector at the spool valve slice. Check for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion. Clean with contact cleaner and reconnect to see if the code clears.
Solenoid Resistance Test: Use a multimeter to check the resistance across the solenoid pins on the valve. Compare the reading to a known good valve (e.g., Valve 5 or Valve 4) on the same stack.
Swap Test: If the wiring tests good, swap the electrical connection between Valve 6 and another valve. If the fault code changes to match the new valve position (e.g., changes to an 'External Hydraulic Valve 5 Issue' code), the spool valve slice/solenoid is internally failed. If the code remains 0A.60.20, the issue is in the tractor's wiring harness or the control module.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic remote controls to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the rear remote valve stack to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Disconnect
Unplug the 4-pin electrical connector from the faulty Valve 6 slice.
Remove the Valve Slice
Remove the tie-rod bolts holding the hydraulic valve stack together. Carefully slide the faulty spool valve slice out of the assembly.
Replace O-Rings
Whenever separating the valve stack, always replace the interconnecting O-rings between the slices to prevent internal or external leaks.
Install the New Valve
Insert the new electro-hydraulic spool valve slice, reinsert the tie-rod bolts, and torque them to the manufacturer's specification.
Reconnect and Test
Plug the 4-pin connector back in, start the tractor, and test the remote function. Clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool.
