0A.60.22

Massey Ferguson 0A.60.22 – Onboard Diagnostic System (hydraulic control module or chassis/transmission controller): External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

Issue description

Malfunction, restriction, or electrical connection problem associated with the 6th external hydraulic remote (spool valve). Symptoms typically present as slow, weak, or completely dead hydraulic response from that specific remote.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and connector at External Hydraulic Valve 6 for corrosion, loose pins, or damage

  2. Check the hydraulic oil filter and transmission filter for blockages that can restrict flow

  3. Check the hydraulic oil for dirt or contamination

  4. Inspect couplers and hoses connected to the Valve 6 remote for faults or wear

  5. Test the spool valve manually (if applicable) to see if it is physically sticking or leaking

Repair steps

  1. Service the Fluid/Filters

If the hydraulic fluid is contaminated or the filter is blocked, drain the fluid, replace the hydraulic/transmission filter, and refill with clean OEM-spec hydraulic oil.

  2. Repair Wiring

If the diagnostic check revealed a broken wire or corroded connector at Valve 6, repair the harness or replace the pigtail connector.

  3. Rebuild the Spool Valve

If the valve is sticking or leaking internally, remove the External Hydraulic Valve 6 assembly from the valve stack. Use an OEM spool valve repair kit to replace the internal seals, springs, and guides.

  4. Replace the Valve

If the valve body is scored, cracked, or suffers from severe electrical solenoid failure that cannot be rebuilt, replace the entire External Hydraulic Valve 6 assembly.

  5. Clear Codes

Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool/interface device to clear the 0A.60.22 code from the system and test the remote under load to ensure proper pressure and flow.

Parts you might need
