0A.60.24

Massey Ferguson 0A.60.24 – Valve Control Module or main vehicle ECU (Autotronic control box or EHRC ECU): External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a malfunction within the circuit or mechanical operation of the 6th external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve), likely an electrical circuit fault, a communication error with the valve, or a failed solenoid.

Check the cause

  1. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to retrieve and confirm the active DTCs

  2. Locate External Hydraulic Valve 6 in the rear remote valve stack and visually inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector plugging into the valve's solenoid for corrosion, backed-out pins, or physical damage

  3. Test the wiring harness for continuity and proper voltage between the Valve Control Module and the Valve 6 solenoid

  4. Check the resistance of the Valve 6 solenoid to determine if the coil has shorted or opened

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic system pressure before servicing the valve stack.

  2. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around External Hydraulic Valve 6 to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  3. Address Wiring

If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or corroded connector, repair the wiring harness or replace the pigtail connector.

  4. Replace the Solenoid/Valve

If the wiring is intact but the solenoid failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut on the solenoid and slide the old solenoid off the valve cartridge. Install the new solenoid and torque the retaining nut to spec. If the valve spool itself is sticking internally, the specific valve slice (or cartridge) must be unbolted from the hydraulic manifold and replaced.

  5. Reassembly and Clearing

Reconnect the electrical harness. Power on the tractor and use the diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.60.24 code. Test the operation of the 6th remote to ensure the issue is resolved.
