0A.60.26

Massey Ferguson 0A.60.26 – VCM: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

Issue description

Fault code 0A.60.26 indicates a malfunction, electrical fault, or communication error specifically isolated to the 6th external hydraulic remote/spool valve. This code suggests an electrical circuit issue, a sticking spool, or a failed solenoid on Valve 6, which can disrupt hydraulic operations.

Check the cause

  1. Verify the hydraulic fluid level and condition. Low or contaminated fluid can cause valve sticking.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector going to External Hydraulic Valve 6 for frayed wires, corrosion, or loose pins.

  3. Check the valve block for external leaks and attempt to operate it manually (if equipped with a manual override) to determine if the spool is physically jammed.

  4. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTC and cycle the tractor's hydraulics to see if the code returns immediately (hard electrical fault) or during operation (mechanical/pressure issue).

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the system

Turn off the tractor and actuate the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve all residual pressure in the hydraulic system.

  2. Clean the area

Thoroughly clean the area around the external hydraulic valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  3. Disconnect electricals

Unplug the wiring harness connector from Valve 6.

  4. Remove hydraulic lines

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses/lines attached to the valve. Cap the lines immediately to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

  5. Dismount the valve

Remove the mounting bolts securing Valve 6 to the main hydraulic distribution block or lift cover.

  6. Repair or replace valve

If rebuilding, disassemble the valve and use an OEM spool valve repair kit to replace the internal O-rings and seals. If replacing, mount the new electronic spool valve assembly.

  7. Reassemble components

Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications, reconnect the hydraulic lines, and plug in the electrical connector.

  8. Test system

Top off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, check for leaks, and test the operation of Valve 6. Clear the fault code with a diagnostic tool.
