   Check for dirty or contaminated hydraulic oil and inspect the hydraulic/transmission filters for blockages

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the #6 electric spool slice for connection problems

   Check the rear remote couplers for damage or blockages, and inspect hoses for wear or internal collapse

   Verify system pressure to rule out a failing hydraulic pump or a faulty main relief valve

   Service the Basics

   If the hydraulic oil is heavily contaminated or filters are blocked, drain the fluid, replace the transmission/hydraulic filters, and refill with clean OEM-spec fluid.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic check revealed a broken wire or corroded pin at the #6 valve connector, clean the contacts or splice in a new connector pigtail.

   Rebuild or Replace the Valve

   If the valve is receiving the correct electrical signal but is sticking or leaking internally, remove the #6 spool valve slice from the rear hydraulic block.

   Reseal

   Use an OEM spool valve repair kit to replace the internal O-rings and seals if the valve is mechanically sound but leaking.

   Replace

   If the electric spool slice has failed internally, install a replacement unit.

   Programming

   If a new electric spool slice is installed, it must be programmed/calibrated to the tractor's ECU using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool before it will function correctly.
