0A.60.28

Massey Ferguson 0A.60.28 – onboard diagnostic system: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a fault—typically an electrical connection problem, solenoid failure, or mechanical sticking—specifically located at the 6th external hydraulic remote valve (spool valve).

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at External Valve 6 for corrosion, bent pins, or frayed wires

  2. Inspect the valve block for visible hydraulic fluid leaks or a physically stuck spool

  3. Ensure the tractor's hydraulic reservoir is at the correct level and the fluid/filters are not heavily contaminated

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Lower all implements to the ground and turn off the engine. Cycle the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve any residual pressure in the system.

  2. Drain/Prepare for Fluid Loss

Place a large catch pan or bucket under the rear remote valve assembly, as removing the valve will result in fluid loss.

  3. Disconnect Electricals

Unplug the electrical solenoid connector attached to External Valve 6.

  4. Remove Hoses and Couplers

Disconnect the hydraulic lines and quick couplers routed to the valve. Cap the lines to prevent contamination.

  5. Unbolt the Valve

Remove the mounting bolts securing the #6 valve section to the hydraulic valve stack/manifold.

  6. Replace Seals and Valve

Remove the faulty valve. When installing the new valve, ensure all mating O-rings and gaskets between the valve slices are replaced and properly seated.

  7. Reassembly

Bolt the new valve into the stack to the manufacturer's torque spec. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and the electrical harness.

  8. Test and Bleed

Top off the hydraulic fluid. Start the tractor, actuate the valve to bleed air from the lines, and check for leaks. Clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool.
