Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness leading to External Hydraulic Valve 6 for obvious rub points, pinched wires, or melted insulation.
Disconnect the solenoid connector at Valve 6. Check for water intrusion, corrosion, or pushed-back pins. Clean with contact cleaner if necessary.
Use a multimeter to check the solenoid coil resistance. Compare the reading to a known good valve on the tractor (e.g., Valve 1 or 2). Test the harness for continuity to the ECU and ensure there is no short to ground.
Check the control unit dashboard. Attempt to clear the error code and perform the valve unlock procedure to see if the fault is a hard failure or an intermittent glitch.
Ensure the tractor's hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and the hydraulic filters are not blocked, which can cause secondary pressure issues.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and relieve any residual hydraulic pressure by cycling the hydraulic levers/joystick.
Access the Valve Block
Locate the rear external hydraulic valve stack. Identify Valve 6 (usually the outermost or highest-numbered slice in the remote stack).
Replace the Solenoid (If Electrical)
If diagnostic tests proved the solenoid coil is open or shorted, remove the retaining nut on the end of the valve spool and slide the old solenoid off. Slide the new solenoid on, torque the retaining nut to spec, and reconnect the wiring harness.
Replace the Valve Slice (If Mechanical/Internal)
If the valve spool is physically binding or the internal position sensor has failed: Clean the area thoroughly to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Disconnect the hydraulic lines attached to Valve 6. Remove the tie-rod bolts holding the valve stack together. Carefully remove the faulty Valve 6 slice, ensuring you do not lose the O-rings between the valve sections. Install the new valve slice with new O-rings. Reinstall and torque the tie-rod bolts to the manufacturer's specification. Reconnect the hydraulic lines and wiring harness.
Clear Codes and Test
Turn the ignition on, clear the 0A.61.19 code from the dashboard, and perform the valve unlock procedure. Start the tractor and test the remote valve with an implement to ensure proper operation and check for leaks.
