Check the cause

  1. Verify the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) level and condition, and ensure hydraulic filters are not clogged

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at External Valve 6 for corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires

  3. Check the external control valve block and quick couplers for visible leaks or damaged seals

  4. Use a compatible diagnostic interface to clear the code and manually actuate Valve 6 to determine if the fault is electrical or mechanical

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

Park the tractor on a flat surface, lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and cycle the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve all residual pressure in the system.

  2. Access the Valve Block

Locate the rear remote valve stack and identify the section corresponding to External Valve 6.

  3. Service the Electrical Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical harness. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the wiring is damaged, repair the harness. If the solenoid coil tests out of specification for resistance, replace the solenoid.

  4. Remove and Inspect the Valve Spool

If the electrical circuit is intact, carefully remove the valve spool assembly. Check for scoring, metal shavings, or a stuck spool.

  5. Clean and Reseal

Flush any contaminated fluid from the valve chamber. Replace all O-rings and seals on the valve section.

  6. Reassembly

Reinstall the valve spool and solenoid. Torque all bolts to OEM specifications.

  7. Fluid Maintenance

If the system was contaminated, replace the hydraulic filter and top off the system with fresh OEM UTTO fluid.

  8. Testing

Start the tractor, allow the hydraulic fluid to warm up, and operate Valve 6 to bleed any trapped air from the system. Verify that the 0A.61.1B code has cleared.
