0A.62.1A

Massey Ferguson 0A.62.1A – Control Unit Dashboard or Hydraulic/Implement Control Module: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

Issue description

Indicates a malfunction in the circuit or operation of the 6th external hydraulic remote valve. This usually points to an electrical connection problem (such as an open circuit, short to ground, or short to power on the valve's solenoid) or a mechanical condition where the valve is blocked or stuck.

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to External Valve 6 for any visible rub points, breaks, or melted insulation.

  2. Disconnect the solenoid connector at the valve and check for corrosion, dirt, or loose pins that could cause a connection problem.

  3. Use a multimeter to check the solenoid coil resistance, verify ground integrity, and check for an open circuit or a short to ground.

  4. Verify if the valve spool is mechanically stuck or blocked by debris in the hydraulic system.

Repair steps

  1. Locate the Valve

Identify External Hydraulic Valve 6 in the rear remote valve stack.

  2. Clean and Reconnect

If the diagnostic checks reveal a dirty or loose connector, clean the terminals with contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and securely reconnect it.

  3. Repair Wiring

If a short or open circuit is found in the harness, splice and repair the damaged section of the wiring.

  4. Replace Solenoid/Valve

If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails the resistance test (or the valve is internally seized), replace the hydraulic valve solenoid or the entire valve section.

  5. Unlock and Clear

After the physical repair, the valves may remain in a blocked state for safety. You must unlock the valves and delete the error code from the control unit dashboard using the tractor's interface or a compatible diagnostic tool.

  6. Test

Cycle the hydraulic remote to ensure proper operation and verify the code does not return.
