Check the cause

  1. Check hydraulic fluid and filters for contamination, dirt, or debris, as blocked filters or dirty oil can cause weak or dead remote hydraulics.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connectors leading to External Valve 6 for corrosion, bent pins, or frayed wires.

  3. Inspect the quick couplers (e.g., 1/2" ISO 5675 female couplers) and hydraulic hoses for damage, blockages, or leaks.

  4. Test valve actuation to determine if the spool valve is physically sticking or if the relief valve is faulty.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the tractor, and actuate the hydraulic levers/controls to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure in the system.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the external hydraulic valve block (often mounted directly on the lift cover under the seat or at the rear remote stack). Identify Valve 6 in the stack.

  3. Disconnect Lines

Carefully disconnect the hydraulic hoses and the electrical actuator connector from the affected valve. Cap the lines to prevent contamination.

  4. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the spool valve to the intermediate block or lift cover.

  5. Replace or Rebuild

Either replace the entire spool valve assembly or rebuild it by replacing the internal O-rings and seals if a rebuild kit is available.

  6. Reinstall

Bolt the new/repaired valve back into the stack. Reconnect the hydraulic hoses and the electrical connector.

  7. Test

Start the tractor, check the hydraulic fluid level, and test the remote valve for proper operation and leak-free performance. Clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool.
