Check the cause

  1. Use a compatible diagnostic tool or interface device to retrieve the codes and confirm the specific nature and location of the fault

  2. Check for electrical connection problems on the hydraulic valve (similar codes often point to connection issues)

  3. Ensure the tractor's hydraulics are set to supply the external hydraulic circuit rather than being diverted exclusively to the three-point hitch

  4. Check for a weak hydraulic pump: test if the three-point arms lift properly. If they do, the issue is isolated to the external valve. If neither works, the main hydraulic pump may have failed

Repair steps

  1. Consult the Manual

Always refer to the specific tractor's OEM service manual for safety procedures and exact valve locations before beginning.

  2. Address Wiring/Connections

If the diagnostic tool indicates a connection issue, clean and reseat the electrical harness connected to External Hydraulic Valve 6.

  3. Valve Replacement/Rebuild

If the valve itself is mechanically faulty or leaking internally, remove the external hydraulic valve assembly. Depending on the severity, you will need to either install a replacement valve or rebuild it using an OEM seal kit.

  4. Pump Rebuild (If Applicable)

If diagnostics point to a weak pump rather than just the valve, a belly pump rebuild kit may need to be installed (estimated at 5-8 hours of labor).

  5. Clear Codes

Once the repair is finished, use your diagnostic interface device to clear the DTCs from the tractor's onboard system.
