Check the cause

  3. Use a multimeter to check the solenoid coil resistance on Valve 6. Verify ground integrity and check for a short to ground or open circuit.

  4. If the physical layout allows, swap the electrical connector from Valve 6 to an adjacent working valve (e.g., Valve 5) to see if the error follows the wiring/controller or stays with the physical valve.

  5. Verify that the armrest fingertip controls or SMS joystick are functioning properly and sending the correct signal to the module.

Repair steps

  1. Depressurize the System

    Park the tractor on level ground, lower all implements, turn off the engine, and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure.

  2. Access the Valve Stack

    Locate the external hydraulic valve block at the rear of the tractor and identify Valve 6.

  3. Address Wiring Issues

    Disconnect the electrical harness from the Valve 6 solenoid. Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. If the harness is damaged, splice and repair the broken wires using weatherproof heat-shrink connectors.

  4. Replace the Solenoid

    If the wiring is intact but the solenoid failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut on the end of the spool valve and slide the old solenoid coil off. Install the new coil and tighten the nut.

  5. Replace or Clean the Spool Valve

    If the electrical components are fine but the valve is mechanically stuck (often indicated by the valve failing to return to neutral), the electrohydraulic spool valve assembly must be removed. Unbolt the valve slice from the stack, taking care not to lose the O-rings between the slices. Clean the valve body or replace the entire slice if internal wear is present.

  6. Reassembly and Clearing Codes

    Reinstall all components, torque hydraulic unions to spec, and reconnect the harness. Start the tractor, test the remote valve operation, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.63.25 code from the system.
