Massey Ferguson 0A.6X.13 – onboard diagnostic system: External Hydraulic Valve 6 Issue

The tractor's diagnostic system has detected a loss of communication, an open circuit, or a short in the wiring or solenoid controlling the 6th external hydraulic spool valve.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector plugging into External Hydraulic Valve 6 at the rear remote block. Look for corrosion, bent pins, or broken wires.

   Use a multimeter to check the resistance/continuity of the solenoid coil on Valve 6 to determine if the coil has failed internally.

   Ensure the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) is at the correct level and that the hydraulic/transmission filters are not blocked, as contaminated oil can cause valve sticking and subsequent electrical faults if the solenoid overworks.

   If possible, swap the solenoid coil from Valve 6 with another known working valve (e.g., Valve 5) to see if the fault code follows the coil or stays with the wiring harness.

   Safety First

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and disconnect the battery.

   Relieve Pressure

   Relieve all hydraulic system pressure by moving the hydraulic control levers/joysticks through all positions.

   Access the Valve Block

   Locate the external hydraulic valve block at the rear of the tractor and identify Valve 6.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Valve 6 solenoid. Clean the connector with contact cleaner if corrosion is present.

   Replace the Solenoid/Valve

   If the solenoid coil tested faulty, remove the retaining nut and slide the old coil off the valve cartridge. Install the new solenoid coil. If the entire valve assembly is faulty, unbolt the valve section from the hydraulic block (be prepared to catch leaking hydraulic fluid) and install the replacement valve with new O-rings/seals.

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect the wiring harness, reconnect the battery, and top off the hydraulic fluid if any was lost.

   Clear Codes

   Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.6X.13 fault code from the system and test the remote valve for proper operation.
