Check the cause

  1. Locate External Hydraulic Valve 6 at the rear remote block and inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve's solenoid for chafing, breaks, or pinched wires.

  2. Disconnect the electrical plug at the valve and check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress.

  3. Use a multimeter to check the resistance of the solenoid coil on Valve 6 to ensure it is not shorted or open.

  4. Attempt to clear the DTC using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to see if the code is a hard fault or an intermittent glitch.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic system pressure by cycling the remote levers/buttons.

  2. Clean the Area

Thoroughly clean the area around External Hydraulic Valve 6 to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  3. Repair Wiring/Connections

If the diagnostic checks revealed a damaged connector or wire, splice in a new connector or repair the harness. Apply dielectric grease to the pins and reconnect.

  4. Replace the Valve/Solenoid

If the electrical circuit is sound but the valve solenoid has failed internally, unbolt the faulty spool valve/solenoid assembly from the hydraulic block.

  5. Install New Part

Mount the replacement external hydraulic valve, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

  6. Test and Clear

Top off hydraulic fluid if any was lost. Start the tractor, actuate the #6 remote to bleed any air, and use a diagnostic interface device to clear the 0A.6X.19 code from the system.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • External Hydraulic Valve Single Spool

    1026699M92

The exact part number will vary heavily depending on whether you are servicing a 4700 series or a 7700 series tractor. Always verify the specific spool valve slice part number against the tractor's serial number in the AGCO/Massey Ferguson parts catalog.

  • External hydraulic valve kit, single spool, double acting control valve

    TS3200M

The exact part number will vary heavily depending on whether you are servicing a 4700 series or a 7700 series tractor. Always verify the specific spool valve slice part number against the tractor's serial number in the AGCO/Massey Ferguson parts catalog.
