Check the cause

  1. Check hydraulic/transmission fluid and filters for contamination, dirt, or debris

  2. Inspect quick connect couplers on Valve 6 for wear or foreign matter

  3. Inspect the external hydraulic valve block for visible fluid leaks

  4. Test the hydraulic valve spool for sticking or jamming caused by debris or internal wear

  5. Check the wiring harness and solenoid connections at Valve 6 for corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve all pressure from the hydraulic system before beginning work.

  2. Drain/Isolate Fluid

Depending on the valve location, you may need to drain the hydraulic reservoir or isolate the fluid to prevent spills.

  3. Disconnect Wiring and Hoses

Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the Valve 6 solenoid. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the valve body.

  4. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the external hydraulic valve from the rear valve stack/block.

  5. Clean and Inspect

If attempting a rebuild, remove the spool from the valve block. Clean out any debris and inspect the spindle for wear or scoring. Replace worn O-rings.

  6. Replace Components

If the valve is heavily worn, electrically dead, or heavily scored, install a new external hydraulic spool valve assembly. Replace any worn quick-connect couplers.

  7. Reassembly

Bolt the new/rebuilt valve back into the stack. Reconnect the hydraulic hoses and the electrical harness.

  8. Fluid and Filter Service

Replace the hydraulic/transmission filter and top off the hydraulic fluid with clean, OEM-spec oil.

  9. Test

Start the tractor, check for leaks, and test the Valve 6 remote with an implement to ensure proper flow, pressure, and code clearance.
