Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the rear hydraulic valve stack, specifically targeting the slice for Valve 7, for corrosion, backed-out pins, or damaged wires.
Test the electronic solenoid on Valve 7 for proper resistance and verify it is receiving voltage when commanded from the cab controls.
Ensure the tractor's hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and the return filters are not clogged, as flow restrictions can trigger valve actuation faults.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Disconnect the battery master switch before servicing the electrical components.
Clean and reseat connector
Clean and reseat the electrical connector on External Hydraulic Valve 7.
Clear code
Clear the code using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to see if the fault returns.
Replace faulty component
If the fault is hard-set, replace the faulty solenoid or the entire Valve 7 slice/spool assembly on the rear hydraulic block.
Parts you might need
(1)External Hydraulic Valve / Auxiliary Remote Valve Spool (Slice 7)
When ordering, you must specify the exact tractor model and whether the valve stack is configured for closed-center load-sensing hydraulics or open-center, as well as the specific position (Valve 7).
