Issue description

This indicates a malfunction in the circuit or mechanical operation of the #7 external hydraulic remote (spool) valve. Check the cause

  1. Verify that the hydraulic/transmission fluid (UTTO) is at the correct level and not contaminated. A blocked hydraulic filter can cause pressure issues that mimic valve failures.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the #7 external hydraulic valve solenoid for rub points, cracked wires, or damage.

  3. Disconnect the solenoid and inspect the pins for corrosion or moisture.

  4. Use a multimeter to check for continuity between the valve connector and the Autotronic/TCU module, and test the solenoid coil's resistance to ensure it is not open or shorted to ground.

  5. Determine if the valve is physically stuck due to debris or internal wear.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

    Park the tractor on a level surface, lower all hydraulic implements to the ground to relieve system pressure, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Clean the Area

    Thoroughly clean the area around the #7 external hydraulic valve block to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  3. Address Wiring

    If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or corroded connector, repair the harness or replace the connector pigtail. Clear the code and test.

  4. Replace the Solenoid/Electrovalve

    If the wiring is intact but the solenoid coil failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut/screws holding the solenoid to the valve body. Slide the old solenoid off and install the new OEM electrovalve.

  5. Address Mechanical Sticking

    If the solenoid is functioning but the valve is jammed, the spool valve assembly must be removed. Unbolt the valve section, inspect the internal spool for scoring or debris, and either clean it thoroughly or replace the entire valve section if wear is excessive.

  6. Reassemble and Test

    Reconnect the wiring, reconnect the battery, and top off the hydraulic fluid if any was lost. Start the tractor, allow the fluid to warm up, and test the #7 remote via the Datatronic/cab controls to ensure smooth operation.
