Check the cause

  1. Navigate to the hydraulics page on the Datatronic 5 terminal to verify the status, flow settings, and naming of Valve 7

  2. Check the hydraulic fluid (UTTO, e.g., 10W40) for proper levels and signs of contamination (metal shavings or dust)

  3. Ensure the hydraulic spool filters have been changed within their 300–500 hour service interval

  4. Inspect the external control valve block, hoses, couplers, and seals for physical damage or active leaks

  5. Verify the electrical connections to the valve actuator, as related codes specifically point to connection problems on hydraulic valves

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Ensure the tractor is off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system before servicing.

  2. Disconnect Lines

Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and ½” ISO 5675 female quick couplers from the affected remote valve.

  3. Remove the Valve

Remove the bolts securing the external hydraulic valve to the base plate or lift cover.

  4. Isolate the Issue

Separate the valve from the base section. Ensure that the internal standpipe is not dislodged from its seat in the hydraulic pump during removal.

  5. Replace Components

Install the new spool valve, actuator, or replace the remote valve filter as necessary.

  6. Reassembly

Fit the base plate back to the lift cover (ensuring the standpipe is correctly located), secure the new control valve with the mounting bolts, and reconnect all hoses and couplers.

  7. System Flush/Fill

Top off or flush the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) if contamination was found.

  8. Recalibration

Turn the tractor on, navigate to the Datatronic 5 terminal, and reconfigure/rename the valve if required.
