Check the cause

  1. Verify the hydraulic oil (UTTO fluid) level and condition. Dirty oil or a blocked hydraulic/transmission filter can restrict flow and trigger valve faults.

  2. Inspect the external hydraulic couplers and hoses for damage, blockages, leaks, wear, or kinks.

  3. Check the wiring harness and electrical connector going to the Valve 8 electric spool slice for corrosion, loose pins, or damaged wires.

  4. Test the pilot pressure control for the electric spool valve to ensure the valve is receiving the correct hydraulic pressure to actuate.

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the tractor and cycle the hydraulic controls to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure in the system before beginning work.

  2. Drain/Catch Fluid

Place a catch pan under the rear remote valve block, as hydraulic fluid will leak during removal.

  3. Disconnect Electricals

Unplug the electrical harness connector from the Valve 8 electric spool slice.

  4. Remove the Valve

Unbolt the faulty electric spool slice from the main hydraulic valve stack.

  5. Rebuild or Replace

Either install a new electric spool slice or rebuild the existing one using an OEM repair kit (replacing internal O-rings and seals).

  6. Reinstall

Bolt the new/rebuilt valve back into the stack, ensuring all mating surfaces are clean and new seals are seated properly. Reconnect the electrical harness.

  7. Programming

If a new electric spool slice is installed, it must be programmed/calibrated to the tractor's diagnostic system to function correctly.

  8. Refill and Test

Top up the hydraulic system with OEM UTTO fluid, start the tractor, and test the remote for proper operation and leaks.
