0A.80.19

Massey Ferguson 0A.80.19 – Electronic Hitch/Hydraulic Control (EHR) or main vehicle control module: External Hydraulic Valve 8 Issue

Issue description

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a malfunction on the 8th external hydraulic remote valve circuit. The underlying condition is typically electrical, such as an open circuit, a short to ground, a short to power, or an out-of-range signal from the spool position sensor or solenoid.

Check the cause

  1. Locate External Hydraulic Valve 8 on the rear remote valve stack. Check the solenoid connector for dirt, corrosion, or loose pins.

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the valve for rub points, pinched wires, or signs of melting.

  3. Use a multimeter to check the coil resistance of the solenoid on Valve 8. Verify ground integrity and check for an open circuit or a short to ground.

  4. Ensure the tractor's hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and that the hydraulic filters are not clogged, as severe fluid restrictions can sometimes cause valve actuation errors.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the system by moving the hydraulic levers/joysticks back and forth.

  3. Access the Valve

Locate the external hydraulic valve stack at the rear of the tractor and identify Valve 8.

  4. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical harness connector from the Valve 8 solenoid/spool position sensor.

  5. Repair or Replace

If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire or bad connector, repair the harness. If the solenoid coil failed the resistance test or the valve is mechanically stuck, unbolt the faulty solenoid/spool assembly from the valve block and install the replacement unit.

  6. Reassemble

Reconnect the electrical harness and restore battery power.

  7. Clear Codes

Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to clear the 0A.80.19 DTC from the system.

  8. Test

Start the tractor and test the operation of the 8th hydraulic remote to ensure the code does not return.
