The controller has lost the calibration data for External Hydraulic Valve 8, or the valve's internal position sensor is sending a signal that falls outside the expected calibrated range (Out of Calibration).

   Visually inspect External Hydraulic Valve 8 in the rear remote stack for physical damage to the valve body or electronic actuator head.

   Inspect the wiring harness leading to Valve 8 for rubbed wires, harness damage, or connector corrosion.

   Verify the power supply, ground integrity, and the 5-volt reference signal at the valve's connector using a multimeter.

   Ensure the J1939 CAN bus data link wires are intact, as a communication drop will trigger an out of calibration state.

   Clear and Retest

   Clear the fault code using the tractor's dashboard interface or a compatible diagnostic tool. Cycle the key and operate the hydraulic lever/fingertip control to see if the code returns immediately.

   Perform Valve Calibration

   Access the Hydraulic Valve Calibration screen through the tractor's terminal (e.g., Datatronic display) or via the dealer's Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT). Follow the on-screen prompts to set the deadband and slope limits for the valve.

   Clean Connections

   If the calibration fails or the code persists, disconnect the battery, unplug the connector at Valve 8, clean the pins with contact cleaner, apply dielectric grease, and reconnect.

   Replace the Actuator/Valve

   If the wiring tests good and the valve refuses to accept a calibration, the internal position sensor or the smart actuator head has failed. Replace the electronic spool valve head (or the entire valve slice, depending on the specific model's parts breakdown).

   Final Calibration

   After installing a new valve or actuator, you must perform the hydraulic valve calibration procedure again to marry the new component to the ECU.
