Check the cause
Verify hydraulic oil levels and ensure the oil is at operating temperature (diagnosing with cold oil can yield false symptoms). Check for blocked hydraulic filters.
Inspect the external hydraulic couplers for Valve 8 to ensure they are not faulty, blocked, or mismatched.
Check for external leaks around the lift cover and the valve block. Use a pressure gauge to test the relief valve pressure (do not adjust relief valves without a gauge).
Check if the spool is physically sticking or if there is internal leakage causing pressure drops.
Inspect the wiring harness and solenoid connectors leading to External Valve 8 for corrosion, damage, or loose connections.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Lower all hydraulic implements to the ground and turn off the tractor. Relieve system pressure by actuating the hydraulic levers/controls.
Isolate the Valve
Locate External Hydraulic Valve 8 on the rear remote valve block (often mounted on or near the lift cover).
Disconnect Lines
Carefully disconnect the hydraulic hoses and electrical solenoid connectors attached to the valve. Cap the lines to prevent contamination.
Remove the Valve
Unbolt the spool valve assembly from the hydraulic block or lift cover.
Rebuild or Replace
To Rebuild: Disassemble the valve, clean the spool, and replace all internal O-rings and seals using an OEM repair kit. To Replace: Mount the new external hydraulic valve assembly, ensuring the mounting surface is clean and new O-rings are seated properly.
Reassembly & Testing
Reconnect all hydraulic lines and electrical connectors. Top off the hydraulic fluid, start the tractor, and bring the oil to operating temperature. Actuate Valve 8 to bleed any air from the system and check for leaks. Clear the DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool.
