   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device to confirm the 0A.83.11 code and check for any accompanying spool position sensor codes.

   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector specifically at External Hydraulic Valve 8 for corrosion, damaged pins, or a loose connection.

   Check the spool position sensor values to ensure the sensor is not open or short-circuited.

   Verify if the valve spool is physically stuck and unable to return to the neutral position.

   Power down the tractor and relieve all hydraulic system pressure.

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 8 on the rear hydraulic valve stack.

   Disconnect the electrical harness from the valve's solenoid/spool position sensor.

   Clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner and reconnect to see if the connection issue resolves the fault.

   If the wiring is intact but the sensor value is out of range, replace the spool position sensor (if serviced separately) or the solenoid.

   If the valve spool is mechanically binding and fails to return to neutral, remove the external hydraulic valve assembly.

   Install the replacement external hydraulic valve assembly and torque the hydraulic unions to the specifications outlined in the service manual.
