Check the cause
Check the wiring harness and connector going to External Hydraulic Valve 8 for corrosion, bent pins, or a loose connection.
Test the solenoid on Valve 8 for an open circuit or low amp draw.
Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool/interface to read the live data from the valve to see if it is receiving a signal voltage.
Repair steps
Depressurize the System
Ensure the tractor is off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the external remotes.
Disconnect Electricals
Unplug the wiring harness from the Valve 8 solenoid.
Remove Hydraulic Lines
Disconnect the hydraulic hoses/unions attached to the valve block.
Remove the Valve
Unbolt the external hydraulic spool valve assembly from the rear hydraulic block.
Install New Valve/Seals
Fit the new valve and ensure the O-ring seals are properly seated. Note: Massey Ferguson manuals mandate that spool valves must be installed and tightened to a specific torque (e.g., 6 - 8 Nm max for certain models) to prevent binding the spool.
Reassemble
Reconnect the hydraulic unions and the electrical harness.
Clear Codes
Use a compatible diagnostic interface device to clear the 0A.8X.13 DTC from the system.
Parts you might need
(3)External Hydraulic Spool Valve / Solenoid Assembly
Part number varies heavily by exact tractor chassis and valve stack position
Hydraulic Valve O-Rings / Seals
195561M1For older legacy models; newer models will require the specific O-ring kit for the rear remote stack
Quick Couplers
3/4"-16 ORB thread (e.g., 8010-15 male tip, 8250-15 female body)
