   Inspect the electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 8.

   Inspect the wiring harness for shorts or open circuits.

   Consult the specific tractor's service manual or use a compatible diagnostic tool/interface device to retrieve live data and interpret the fault correctly before teardown.

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 8

   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 8 (the electric spool slice) on the rear hydraulic valve stack.

   Clean contacts

   Disconnect the electrical harness and clean the contacts to resolve any connection issues.

   Replace components

   If the wiring is intact but the valve fails to operate, the electric spool slice or its pilot pressure control may need to be replaced.

   Program new unit

   If replacing the electric spool slice, note that the new unit needs to be programmed to the tractor after physical installation.

   Rebuild spool valve

   If the valve is leaking or mechanically sticking, an OEM repair kit can be used to rebuild the spool valve.

   Clear DTCs

   Clear the DTCs using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic interface.
