Massey Ferguson 0B.00.02 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve solenoid is lower than the expected operational threshold, typically indicating high electrical resistance in the circuit.

Applies to these machines

  • 5710SL
  • 5711SL
  • 5712SL
  • 5713SL
  • T4
  • 5608
  • 5609
  • 5610
  • 5611
  • 5612
  • 5613
  • 4707-4710
  • 7614-7626
  • 7714-7726S

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the electro valve solenoids for chafed wires, breaks, or pinched lines.

  2. Disconnect the electrical harness at the solenoid and inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture, or loose terminals.

  3. Perform a resistance test (Ohm test) across the two pins of the solenoid coil and compare to OEM specifications to check for high resistance.

  4. Verify that the solenoid is receiving proper voltage from the module when the loader joystick is actuated, and ensure the ground circuit is clean and secure.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Locate the Valve

Identify the mid-mount valve block (typically located under the right side of the cab/chassis) and locate the specific solenoid throwing the code.

  3. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid. Clean the connector with electrical contact cleaner if reusing.

  4. Remove the Solenoid Coil

Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

  5. Replace

Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge stem. Slide the new OEM replacement coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can damage the plastic coil housing).

  6. Reassemble

Reconnect the electrical harness to the new solenoid.

  7. Clear Codes

Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.00.02 fault code from the system.

  8. Test

Start the tractor and operate the loader joystick to ensure the mid-mount valve responds correctly and the code does not return.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid (or Solenoid Coil)

Because the exact solenoid depends on the specific loader valve block option installed, you must provide the tractor's serial number and the loader valve's data tag to an AGCO/Massey Ferguson parts dealer to obtain the correct replacement coil.
