Massey Ferguson 0B.00.05 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid coil on the mid-mount loader valve is lower than the expected threshold. A "low amp draw" condition almost always points to high electrical resistance, an open circuit, a broken wire, a disconnected plug, or a burnt-out (open) solenoid coil winding.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block for chafed wires, pinched lines, or rodent damage.

   Disconnect the electrical plug at the affected mid-mount valve solenoid and check for water intrusion, corrosion, or pushed-back pins.

   Perform a coil resistance test using a digital multimeter across the two pins of the solenoid coil; a reading of 'OL' or infinite resistance indicates a broken internal winding.

   Perform a voltage supply test by unplugging the connector and having an operator actuate the loader joystick to ensure the module is sending the command signal.

   Safety First

   Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, and cycle the loader joystick to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the system. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block on the chassis.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or cap screw located at the top/end of the valve stem.

   Slide Off

   Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge tube. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself, meaning no hydraulic fluid will be lost).

   Install New Coil

   Clean the valve stem of any dirt or debris. Slide the new solenoid coil over the stem.

   Secure

   Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque spec (do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic coil housing).

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back into the new solenoid.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and operate the loader joystick to verify smooth operation and ensure the 0B.00.05 code has cleared.
