Massey Ferguson 0B.00.07 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit
Issue description
The control module is attempting to send an electrical signal to the solenoid responsible for actuating the mid-mount hydraulic valve, but the electrical circuit is incomplete. An open circuit is generally caused by a broken wire, a disconnected or corroded wiring harness plug, or a burnt-out internal coil within the solenoid itself.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Locate the mid-mount valve block (usually mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis where the loader hydraulic lines connect). Inspect the wiring harness leading to the solenoids for chafing, rodent damage, or severed wires.
Connector Check: Unplug the connector at the affected loader solenoid. Inspect the pins for corrosion, moisture ingress, or pushed-back terminals.
Solenoid Continuity Test: Using a digital multimeter set to Ohms (Ω), measure the resistance across the pins of the solenoid itself. If the multimeter reads 'OL' (infinite resistance), the internal coil is broken (open) and the solenoid must be replaced.
Harness Continuity Test: If the solenoid tests within normal resistance specifications, test the wiring harness for continuity from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to isolate a broken wire in the loom.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent accidental short circuits during repair.
Access the Valve
Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block. Clean the area around the affected solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
Wiring Repair
If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire in the harness, splice and repair the wire using weather-sealed (heat-shrink) butt connectors.
Solenoid Replacement
Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place. Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge. Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem. Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut.
Reassembly
Reconnect the electrical plug, ensuring the weather seal clicks firmly into place.
Testing
Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on, clear the DTCs using a compatible diagnostic tool or the dash menu, and test the loader joystick to ensure proper hydraulic function and that the code does not return.
