Massey Ferguson 0B.00.21 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Issue With Spool Position Sensor Value
Issue description
The sensor responsible for monitoring the physical position of the hydraulic spool valve is sending an erratic, missing, or out-of-tolerance signal to the tractor's control system.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the Mid Mount Valve Module and the spool position sensor for open circuits, low/high amp draws, or connection problems
Ensure the spool valve itself is not physically jammed by debris, which would prevent it from reaching the position expected by the sensor
Attempt to recalibrate the mid-mount valves via the tractor's diagnostic interface before replacing hardware
Repair steps
Retrieve Codes
Connect a Massey Ferguson-compatible diagnostic tool to verify code 0B.00.21 is active and check for accompanying mid-mount valve codes (e.g., 0B.01.XX series).
Access the Valve Block
Locate the Mid Mount Electro Valve block (typically mounted on the chassis for loader control).
Inspect and Replace
Disconnect the electrical connector to the spool position sensor. If wiring tests confirm the harness is good but the sensor value remains out of range, unbolt and remove the faulty spool position sensor.
Install New Sensor
Fit the replacement sensor to the spool valve housing.
Recalibrate
After installation, you must use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs and perform a valve calibration so the module learns the new sensor's parameters.
