Massey Ferguson 0B.01.02 – Implement/Hydraulic Control Module or Mid-Mount Valve Controller: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw
Issue description
The tractor's control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the mid-mount loader valve solenoid circuit is lower than the expected threshold. This condition typically points to high electrical resistance, a loose or corroded connector, damaged wiring (partial open circuit), or a failing solenoid coil on the loader's hydraulic valve block.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness leading to the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (usually located on the right side of the chassis, under the cab). Look for pinched wires, chafing, or debris damage.
Connector Check: Disconnect the harness at the affected solenoid. Check for water ingress, dirt, or corroded pins. Clean the contacts and ensure a tight connection.
Resistance Test (Ohms): Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. A 'Low Amp Draw' often means the coil's internal resistance has become too high. Compare the reading to a known good solenoid on the same valve block.
Voltage/Signal Test: Actuate the loader joystick and verify that the controller is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid connector.
Check Spool Sensors: Ensure there are no accompanying spool position sensor faults (e.g., M17, M18, M19, M20, M21), which can sometimes trigger alongside valve actuation issues.
Repair steps
Safety First
Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, and cycle the loader joystick to relieve all residual hydraulic pressure in the system.
Locate the Valve
Access the mid-mount electro valve block.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.
Remove the Coil
Remove the retaining nut or clip at the end of the valve cartridge stem. Carefully slide the old solenoid coil off the stem. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself, which prevents fluid loss).
Clean and Inspect
Wipe down the valve stem. Check for any signs of hydraulic fluid leaking from the cartridge, which could short out the new coil.
Install New Part
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut/clip. Do not overtighten.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness back into the new solenoid.
Test and Clear
Start the tractor, test the loader functions for proper operation, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.01.02 fault code from the system.
