Massey Ferguson 0B.01.04 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit
Issue description
The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a break in the electrical circuit (infinite resistance or no continuity) leading to the solenoid that controls the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the mid-mount valve block wiring harness for physical damage, chafing, or severed wires.
Disconnect the plug at the loader electro valve solenoid and check for pushed-back pins, broken wires at the connector base, or heavy corrosion/moisture inside the plug.
Perform a multimeter Ohm test on the solenoid coil pins. If the reading shows infinite resistance (OL), the internal coil is burned out. If resistance is normal, the open circuit is in the tractor's wiring harness between the Mid Mount Valve Module and the solenoid.
Repair steps
Safety First
Turn off the tractor, lower the loader to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure, and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
Access the Valve
Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block.
Disconnect Wiring
Unplug the electrical connector from the specific solenoid throwing the code.
Remove the Solenoid Coil
Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem securing the electro-valve solenoid.
Replace the Coil
Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the valve cartridge stem. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the valve cartridge itself just to replace the electrical coil).
Install New Part
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem, secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic casing), and plug the electrical connector back in.
Clear Codes and Test
Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and test the loader joystick to ensure functionality and verify that the 0B.01.04 code has cleared.
