Massey Ferguson 0B.01.10 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit

The control system has detected a break in the electrical circuit (infinite resistance or lack of continuity) for the solenoid that operates the mid-mount hydraulic valve for the front loader. Because the circuit is open, the solenoid cannot energize, and the loader function tied to that valve will not operate.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block for severed wires, pinch points, or chafing against the tractor chassis.

   Disconnect the plug at the mid-mount electro valve solenoid and check for loose, backed-out, or heavily corroded pins, as well as moisture ingress.

   Using a digital multimeter set to Ohms (Ω), measure the resistance across the pins of the solenoid coil itself. If the reading shows 'OL' (Open Loop) or infinite resistance, the internal coil is broken.

   If the solenoid tests within normal resistance specifications, test the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to locate the break in the wiring.

   Safety First

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the loader to the ground to relieve hydraulic pressure, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery cable.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount valve block, which is typically mounted on the right side of the tractor under the cab or integrated into the loader subframe brackets.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the specific solenoid throwing the code.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Remove the retaining nut or clip at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

   Replace the Coil

   Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the hydraulic cartridge stem. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the cartridge valve itself just to replace the electrical coil).

   Install New Part

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem, secure it with the retaining nut/clip, and plug the electrical connector back in.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and operate the loader joystick to verify the function is restored and the 0B.01.10 code has cleared.
