Massey Ferguson 0B.01.13 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Supply Solenoid Open Circuit
Issue description
The electrical circuit supplying power to the solenoid on the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve is broken, disconnected, or has failed internally. The system's controller is detecting infinite resistance (an open circuit) on the supply line, which prevents the solenoid from actuating the hydraulic spool.

Check the cause
Visual Inspection: Inspect the mid-mount valve wiring harness/loom for visible damage, chafing against the tractor chassis, or disconnected plugs.
Coil Resistance Test: Disconnect the electrical connector at the supply solenoid on the mid-mount valve block. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil pins. If the multimeter reads "OL" (infinite resistance), the coil is internally open and must be replaced.
Harness Voltage/Ground Test: With the connector unplugged, activate the loader joystick (with the key on) and check for 12V power and a solid ground at the harness side of the connector. If voltage or ground is missing, the issue lies in the wiring harness rather than the solenoid.
Connector Pin Check: Inspect the pins inside the solenoid and harness connectors for corrosion, moisture, or pins that have been pushed back into the plastic housing.
Repair steps
Safeguard the Machine
Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the loader completely to the ground to relieve all hydraulic pressure, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery cable.
Locate the Valve
Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis, near the loader mounting brackets).
Disconnect Wiring
Unplug the electrical connector from the specific supply solenoid throwing the open circuit code.
Replace the Solenoid Coil
If the coil failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem. Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the cartridge.
Install New Coil
Slide the new replacement coil onto the valve stem and tighten the retaining nut (be careful not to overtighten, which can distort the cartridge).
Harness Repair (If Applicable)
If the diagnostic tests pointed to a broken wire in the loom, trace the break and repair it using weather-sealed (heat-shrink) butt connectors, or replace the damaged section of the mid-mount valve wiring harness.
Test
Reconnect the electrical plug, reconnect the battery, and turn on the tractor. Test the loader joystick functions to ensure the hydraulic flow is restored and verify that the 0B.01.13 code has cleared from the dash.
