Issue description

This code indicates that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid coil on the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve is exceeding the maximum threshold expected by the controller. A "High Amp Draw" typically points to an internal short circuit within the solenoid coil itself, a short-to-ground in the wiring harness, or a mechanically jammed valve spool that is causing the solenoid to overheat and draw excessive current.

Check the cause

  1. Visual Wiring Inspection: Trace the wiring harness from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block. Look for chafed insulation, pinched wires, or melted spots that could be causing a short to ground.

  2. Connector Check: Disconnect the plug at the affected solenoid. Inspect the pins for water ingress, corrosion, or melting, which can bridge the connections and cause a high current draw.

  3. Coil Resistance Test (Ohm Test): Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil. Compare the reading to the manufacturer's specifications. A reading of zero or near-zero ohms confirms an internal short in the coil, meaning the solenoid is dead and must be replaced.

  4. Swap Test: If the resistance seems normal, temporarily swap the suspect solenoid coil with an adjacent, identical coil on the valve block (e.g., swap the lift circuit coil with the tilt circuit coil). If the fault code changes to a different circuit, the coil is definitively the failure point. If the code remains 0B.01.15, the issue is in the wiring harness or the module.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

    Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the loader to the ground, turn off the engine, and remove the key.

  2. Relieve Pressure

    Move the loader joystick in all directions to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the mid-mount valve block.

  3. Locate the Valve

    Locate the mid-mount valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor, under the cab/platform area).

  4. Disconnect Power

    Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

  5. Remove the Solenoid

    Remove the retaining nut or bolt at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

  6. Extract the Coil

    Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge stem. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the cartridge to replace just the electromagnetic coil).

  7. Install New Part

    Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic coil housing.

  8. Reconnect and Test

    Plug the electrical connector back in. Start the tractor, test the loader functions, and use a compatible diagnostic tool (or the dash interface) to clear the inactive 0B.01.15 fault code.
