Massey Ferguson 0B.01.17 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Issue With Spool Position Sensor Value
Issue description
The system is receiving an irregular, out-of-range, or missing electrical signal from the sensor responsible for monitoring the position of the hydraulic spool valve.

Check the cause
Inspect the wiring harness and connectors at the Mid Mount Valve Module and the spool position sensor for open circuits, corrosion, or connection problems.
Verify that there is proper communication between the tractor's Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module.
Use a compatible diagnostic tool to read live test values from the spool position sensor to see if the voltage changes smoothly as the spool is actuated.
Check if the valves have lost their calibration parameters.
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to ensure safety while working on the electro-hydraulic system.
Inspect/Repair Wiring
If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged wiring or a loose connector at the Mid Mount Valve Module, repair the connection and clear the code.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring is intact but the sensor value remains out of range, remove the faulty spool position sensor from the mid-mount control valve and install the replacement sensor.
Perform Parameter Adjustment/Calibration
Once a spool valve or its position sensor is replaced, you must use a diagnostic tool to perform a parameter adjustment. You must assign the new sensor/spool valve the correct position values so the tractor's electronic control system can accurately manage the hydraulic flow from the control levers.
Clear Codes and Test
Clear the DTCs from the system and operate the mid-mount hydraulics (e.g., the loader) to ensure the code does not return.
