Massey Ferguson 0B.01.20 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Issue With Spool Position Sensor Value

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system is receiving an erratic, out-of-range, or missing signal from the spool position sensor, which monitors the physical position of the hydraulic spool inside the valve block.

   Check for related codes that might indicate a broader electrical issue, such as 0B.00.16 (No Communication Between The Dash and The Mid Mount Valve Module) or 0B.01.22 (Issue With Calibration OF Valves).

   Inspect the wiring harness running to the Mid Mount Valve Module and the specific spool position sensor for open circuits, corrosion in the pins, or damaged wires.

   Test solenoid amp draw to verify that the solenoid is receiving proper voltage and isn't shorting out.

   Check joystick/cab controls to ensure the issue isn't originating from the cab controls (related code 0B.01.24).

   Relieve Hydraulic Pressure

   Safely park the tractor, lower any front attachments (loader/hitch) to the ground, turn off the engine, and cycle the hydraulic joystick to relieve residual pressure in the mid-mount valve.

   Locate the Mid Mount Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (usually mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis, routing to the front loader/linkage).

   Inspect the Sensor

   Locate the spool position sensor on the affected valve slice. Disconnect the electrical harness and clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner.

   Replace the Sensor

   If the wiring is intact and the sensor is deemed faulty, unbolt the spool position sensor from the valve body and install the replacement sensor.

   Recalibrate the Valves

   After replacing the sensor, the tractor's hydraulic valves must be recalibrated. This is typically done through the tractor's Datatronic/diagnostic screen or by a dealer using the AGCO diagnostic tool.
