Massey Ferguson 0B.01.22 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Issue With Calibration OF Valves

Issue description

Triggered when the tractor's onboard diagnostic system detects that the Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve has lost its calibration parameters or failed a calibration routine.

Check the cause

  1. Check Spool Position Sensors: Verify the spool position sensor values using a diagnostic tool. Faulty sensors will prevent successful calibration.

  2. Inspect Solenoid Electrical Draw: Check the loader mid-mount electro valve solenoids for open circuits, low amp draw, or high amp draw (which would trigger related codes like 0B.01.01 through 0B.01.12).

  3. Check Cab Switches: Verify the voltage from the loader selector switch in the cab.

  4. Verify Communication: Ensure there is no communication loss between the Dash and the Mid Mount Valve Module (Code 0B.01.16).

  5. Hydraulic Fluid: Ensure the tractor's hydraulic fluid is at the correct level and warmed up to operating temperature, as cold fluid can cause calibration failures.

Repair steps

  1. Warm Up the System

    Start the tractor and operate the hydraulics until the fluid reaches normal operating temperature.

  2. Connect Diagnostic Tool

    Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to the tractor's diagnostic port. (On some models, calibration can be initiated via the dashboard screen menus).

  3. Initiate Calibration

    Navigate to the Mid Mount Valve Module settings and select the valve calibration routine.

  4. Cycle the Valves

    Follow the on-screen prompts to cycle the loader joystick through its full range of motion (raise, lower, dump, curl) to allow the module to learn the end-stops and spool travel limits.

  5. Inspect Wiring

    If the calibration fails or the code immediately returns, inspect the wiring harness connecting the mid-mount valve block to the main chassis harness for chafing or corrosion.

  6. Replace Faulty Components

    If the wiring is intact but the valve refuses to calibrate, use a multimeter to test the individual electro-hydraulic solenoids and spool position sensors on the valve block. Replace any component that tests out of spec.

  7. Clear Codes

    Once the repair is made and calibration is successful, clear the DTCs from the system.
