Massey Ferguson 0B.02.02 – Implement Control Unit or main Vehicle ECU: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw
Issue description
The tractor's diagnostic system has detected that the electrical current (amperage) flowing to the solenoid coil on the mid-mount loader valve is below the minimum expected threshold, indicating an open circuit.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the mid-mount electro valve block wiring harness for chafing, cuts, or pinch points caused by loader frame movement.
Disconnect the electrical plug at the suspect solenoid and check the pins for moisture, dirt, corrosion, or pushed-back terminals.
Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two terminals of the solenoid coil using a digital multimeter. An 'OL' (Open Line) or infinite reading indicates the coil has failed internally.
With the connector unplugged, have an operator actuate the loader joystick in the cab. Check for proper voltage and ground at the harness connector to rule out a faulty joystick spool position sensor or a broken harness wire.
Repair steps
Power Down
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent short circuits.
Access the Valve
Locate the mid-mount electro valve assembly. Clean the area around the faulty solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.
Disconnect Wiring
Unplug the electrical harness connector from the failed solenoid.
Remove the Coil
Remove the retaining nut located at the end of the solenoid cartridge stem.
Swap the Part
Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve stem. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the cartridge valve itself, just the electromagnetic coil).
Install New Coil
Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the stem and reinstall the retaining nut. Do not overtighten, as this can distort the cartridge.
Reconnect
Plug the electrical harness back into the new solenoid, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.
Test and Clear
Reconnect the battery. Start the tractor and test the loader functions via the joystick. Finally, use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.02.02 historical fault code from the system.
