Massey Ferguson 0B.02.05 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The tractor's diagnostic system has detected that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid on the mid-mount loader valve is lower than the expected operational threshold, indicating high electrical resistance in the circuit.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader electro-valve block for chafed wires, pinches, or breaks that could cause high resistance.

  2. Disconnect the plug at the affected mid-mount valve solenoid and inspect the pins for dirt, moisture, or corrosion. Clean the contacts and ensure a tight fit.

  3. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance (Ohms) across the solenoid coil pins. A reading that is out of specification confirms the coil is failing internally.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the chassis or under the cab, routing hydraulic lines to the front loader).

  3. Remove the Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical wiring harness plug from the faulty solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem and slide the old solenoid coil off the cartridge.

  4. Install the New Part

Slide the new solenoid coil onto the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut.

  5. Reconnect and Clear

Reconnect the wiring harness plug. Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.02.05 DTC from the system.

  6. Test

Operate the loader joystick to ensure the mid-mount valve responds correctly without throwing the code again.
