Massey Ferguson 0B.02.08 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid coil for the loader's mid-mount hydraulic valve is below the minimum expected threshold. This condition is almost always electrical and typically indicates high resistance in the circuit, a loose or corroded electrical connection, a damaged wiring harness, or a failing/burnt-out solenoid coil.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the tractor chassis to the mid-mount valve block for chafed wires, vibration damage, or stretched cables.

   Disconnect the electrical plug at the mid-mount valve solenoid and check for water ingress, dust, or corroded pins. Ensure the pin tension is tight.

   Using a digital multimeter, check the resistance (Ohms) of the solenoid coil itself. An open circuit (infinite resistance) or abnormally high resistance means the coil is dead.

   Check the voltage reaching the connector under load to ensure the module is sending the correct trigger voltage.

   Verify that the ground circuit for the mid-mount valve block has no high resistance, as poor grounds will cause low amperage readings.

   Safety First

   Lower the loader to the ground to relieve all hydraulic pressure. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent short circuits.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the mid-mount valve block area to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system when the valve is removed.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty mid-mount electro-valve solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Depending on the valve design, either remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem and slide the electromagnetic coil off, or use a wrench to unthread the entire solenoid cartridge valve from the block.

   Install the New Part

   Slide the new coil onto the stem (or thread the new cartridge into the block). If installing a cartridge, ensure the O-rings are lightly lubricated with clean hydraulic fluid. Do not overtighten.

   Reassemble

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Reconnect the battery.

   Test

   Start the tractor, allow hydraulic pressure to build, and operate the loader joystick to verify smooth engagement and ensure the 0B.02.08 code has cleared.
