0B.02.11

Massey Ferguson 0B.02.11 – Dash / Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid circuit for the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve is lower than the expected threshold. This typically points to an open circuit, a disconnected plug, damaged wiring (high resistance), or a burnt-out solenoid coil.

  • 7700 series

Check the cause

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the mid-mount electro valve block solenoids for chafing, cuts, or pinch points.

  2. Disconnect the electrical plug at the affected solenoid and check for water ingress, corrosion, or pushed-back pins.

  3. Perform a coil resistance test using a multimeter across the two pins of the solenoid coil (an infinite/OL reading indicates a dead/open coil).

  4. Check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to rule out a broken wire.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the battery to prevent short circuits while working on the electrical system.

  2. Relieve Pressure

Lower the loader to the ground and cycle the joystick to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the mid-mount valve block.

  3. Remove the Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the solenoid stem.

  4. Slide Off the Coil

Slide the electromagnetic coil off the valve cartridge. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself just to replace the electrical coil, which prevents fluid loss).

  5. Install New Solenoid

Slide the new solenoid coil onto the cartridge stem. Install and tighten the retaining nut.

  6. Reconnect and Test

Reconnect the electrical harness. Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and clear the active DTCs using the dash interface or a compatible diagnostic tool. Test the loader joystick to ensure proper operation and verify the code does not return.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid (Coil)

Reference the AGCO Parts catalog using your specific tractor's serial number. Verify whether you need just the electrical coil or the entire solenoid cartridge assembly.
