Massey Ferguson 0B.02.14 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting less electrical current than expected when it commands the solenoid to turn on. This typically indicates high electrical resistance in the circuit, a failing solenoid coil (internal break or increased resistance), a poor ground connection, or a damaged wire/corroded connector.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connectors between the Mid Mount Valve Module and the Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid for corrosion, loose pins, or physical damage

   Disconnect the affected solenoid and measure the resistance of the solenoid coil using a multimeter. Compare the reading against OEM specifications. An unusually high resistance reading or an 'OL' (open loop) confirms the solenoid coil has failed internally

   Check the ground circuit for the solenoid to ensure it is clean and tight, as a poor ground will cause a low amp draw

   Check for proper voltage at the solenoid connector when the loader function is commanded on from the cab

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the Mid Mount Electro Valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis, under the cab, or near the loader mast connections).

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the specific solenoid throwing the code.

   Remove the Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or clip at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

   Swap the Coil

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge stem. Slide the new OEM replacement coil onto the stem.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut/clip. Reconnect the electrical connector securely.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on, clear the stored DTCs using a compatible diagnostic tool, and test the loader functions to ensure the code does not return.
