Issue description

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected a failure or out-of-range condition during the calibration process of the electro-hydraulic valves.

Check the cause

  1. Check Hydraulic Fluid and Filters: Ensure the hydraulic oil is clean and at the correct level. A restricted hydraulic oil filter or transmission filter can cause pressure drops that prevent successful valve calibration.

  2. Inspect Electrical Connections: Check the wiring harnesses and connectors going to the Mid Mount Valve Module and the individual electro valve solenoids. Look for corrosion, loose pins, or damaged wires that could cause intermittent voltage drops or open circuits.

  3. Check Spool Position Sensors: Verify that the sensors are securely mounted and reading correctly (related codes 0B.02.17 through 0B.02.21 indicate spool position sensor value issues).

  4. Check Loader Selector Switch: Verify the voltage from the loader selector switch in the cab (related code 0B.02.24), as a faulty switch can interrupt the calibration process.

  5. Check for Solenoid Faults: Ensure there are no active codes for solenoid open circuits, low amp draw, or high amp draw (e.g., 0B.02.07 to 0B.02.15) before attempting calibration.

Repair steps

  1. Prepare the Tractor

    Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the loader/implements to the ground, and relieve all hydraulic pressure. Ensure the hydraulic fluid is up to normal operating temperature, as cold, thick oil can cause calibration failures.

  2. Clear Inactive Codes

    Connect a compatible diagnostic tool (such as the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool - EDT) to the tractor's diagnostic port. Clear any stored, inactive fault codes.

  3. Address Hardware Faults

    If any active codes for solenoids, spool position sensors, or communication errors (e.g., 0B.02.16) are present, replace the faulty component (solenoid coil, sensor, or wiring harness) before proceeding.

  4. Run Valve Calibration

    Using the diagnostic tool, navigate to the Mid Mount Valve Module / Loader Control section and initiate the automated valve calibration routine. Follow the on-screen prompts carefully (this usually involves moving the joystick to its maximum extents to teach the module the end-of-stroke positions).

  5. Verify Repair

    If the calibration completes successfully, the 0B.02.22 code will clear. Test the loader functions for smooth operation. If the calibration fails again, the mid-mount valve block may have internal mechanical binding, or the spool position sensor is internally faulty and requires replacement.
